Core Security Member

Tae-il has about 20 years’ extensive lecturer experience in Information security industry from 1999. He lectured at Interpol, Hyundai Motor Group, LG Electronics, Korea National Police Agency, Korea Internet Security Agency, Financial Telecommunications & Clearing Institute, Ministry of National Defense, and etc. And he has worked as adjunct professor in Far East University from 2013 and as visiting lecturer in Samsung Advanced Technology Training Institute from 2013. He participated in a lot of conferences as a speaker such as Solaris Tech Day, PADOCON, and National information security conference. He also participated in training section of 2013 OWASP AppSec 2013 Asia and CodeGate as a mentor.

(CEO)Tae-il Kim

His area of expertise is digital forensics, reverse engineering, hardware hacking, security incident response, embedded system security, security development lifecycle, and firmware reverse engineering. This came from his continuous research on Information security. And he has certifications such as CEH(Certified Ethical Hacker), EC-Council Certified Security Analyst, CHFI(Computer Hacking Forensic Investigator), and CEI(Certified EC-Council Instructor from EC-Council). Also, he can speak English as well as Korean. He received the appreciation plaque for contribution to investigation techniques from Korean police investigation academy at September 2012.

Han-ik Joo

- Senior Researcher -

Han-ik has worked in Information security industry for 10 years and with Core Security from August 2011. He lectures to students and employees working information security industry and keeps researching on latest information security technologies.
He has a master’s degree in Information security at Sogang University. He specializes in web application security, incident response, reverse engineering, software vulnerability analysis, information security training, malware detection & tracking down, and malware analysis. He has certifications such as CEH, CEI, CHFI, Cisco Certified Network Associate, and Engineer Information Processing.
He published a paper titled ‘Implementation of forensic tool for symbol information extraction using Linux physical memory dump’.

Byung-hyo Kim

- General Manager -

Byung-hyo has been working with Core Security from February 2013. His major role is business planning and presales. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Sociology at Seoul National University which is the best university in Korea. He specializes in business planning and project management. He can speak English as much as Korean.

Hoon Cho

- Chief Research Engineer -

Hoon has worked in information security industry for about 15 years. From May 2004 to October 2008, he worked as a senior engineer at Security Awareness Korea. He performed penetration test, cyber security training, and security consulting in the Security Awareness Korea. And then he moved to NetSecure Technology. In the NetSecure, he worked as an assistant manager from 2008 to 2009 for malware analysis and cyber security management of SKBroadband. From 2009 to 2014, for 5 years, he worked at SK Infosec as a deputy general manager. He took a role of security vulnerability research and incident response. And then he started working with Core Security from July 2014. Now he is part of Content development team and develops cyber security training contents. He participated in a project as a project manager titled ‘Analysis and sharing of cyber security incidents for increase of industry incident response capability’ in Core Security.
He has technical expertise in Linux, malware analysis, cyber security R&D, security vulnerability analysis, digital forensics, and incident response. He also received a master’s degree in information security at Chonnam National University.

Neo Park

- Director of Global Business Development -

He identifies strategic partnership opportunities, presents initiatives for approval by executive management, negotiates through all phases of partner execution, and builds strong interpersonal relationships across the business and cross-functional teams to help deliver results. Also, he has been teaching computer security, computational science, programming courses in Cyber Security department at Far East University, South Korea. He has technical expertise as much as business capability.
He participated in Global information security business development project funded by Korean government in November 2016. And he published two papers title ‘Detection System Model of Zombie PC using Live Forensics Techniques’ and ‘Cyber Threat Prediction Model Using Security Monitoring System Event’ in 2012.
He did a double major in civil engineering at Konkuk University and computer science at Utah State University. And he received a master’s degree in computer science at Utah State University. His high business capability comes from his various experiences. Experience as an assistant CEO and executive officer from Avalon Language Institution Corporation which is currently one of the biggest private institution in South Korea is representative.

Eun-souk Park

- Director of Administrative support -

She is one of the founding members of Core Security and a director of Administrative support team. She handles the Core Security’s billing and accounting, manages human resources and training procedure, and promotes and markets cyber security training contents or products. She has supported a lot of training courses such as Professional training course to enhance cyber security capacity for Hyundai motor group, Malware analysis training for Agency for defense development, IoT hacking techniques and code analysis training for National policy agency, Penetration testing specialist training course for Korea electric power knowledge data network Co., Ltd., 1st/2nd K-Shield program of Korean government KISA, and etc.

Ik-hee Lee

- Associate Research Engineer -

Ik-hee has been working with Core Security from August 2014. He advanced to the finals on KISA HDCON(Hacking Defense CONtest) 2014 finals. He has been getting a wide variety of project and lecturer experiences in Core Security.
In 2015, He lectured to students of Far East University about digital forensics and detection of malware. In 2016, he participated in KISA Specialist training for information security product testing as a lecturer. And he lectured about analysis of malicious documents to people working at Hyundai Motor Group in July and Supreme Prosecutors’ Office in December. From September to October, he participated in White hacker basic training course of Samsung Advanced Technology Training Institute as a lecturer on basics of network and network infra hacking. And he lectured about malware detection and analysis techniques, web application hacking, and computer system incident response at K-Shield program of Korean government KISA from 2015 to 2016.
He has great skills in a variety of fields such as reverse engineering, network hacking, web hacking, Linux, malware analysis, and incident response. He has network administrator certification from Telecommunications Technology Association.

Sung-geun Wi

- Associate Research Engineer -

He has worked with Core Security from December 2013. He is the part of Content Development Team. He develops cyber security training scenarios and contents and constructs and improves virtual training environment. He received a Bachelor of Engineering in information security at Woosuk University.

He has worked with Core Security from April 2015. He is the part of Content Development Team. And he develops cyber security training scenarios and contents and constructs and improves virtual training environment. He received a Bachelor of Engineering in computer engineering at Hallym University.

Chung-ki Han

- Developer -

He has been working with Core Security from April 2016. He is the part of Content Development Team. He develops cyber security training scenarios and contents and analyzes latest cyber security technologies. He has deep knowledge of Windows kernel and great skills in C/C++ programming, reverse engineering, and malware analysis.
He participated in a project titled ‘Development of a defense training solution against hacking’ in April 2015. He constructed hacking protection training system. In August 2016, He participated in a project of Korean government KISA titled ‘Analysis of cyber attacks ’. He had analyzed Carbanak malware and Shell Crew malware and constructed analysis environment of Shell Crew malware in the project.
He graduated from Chosun University with a bachelor’s degree in control and measuring robot engineering. He received a scholarship for his good grades. And he was in autonomous robot control laboratory.

Oh-jeongKwon

- Intern -

He has been the part of Training business team as an intern from November 2016. He assists cyber security training courses. And he is training how to lecture effectively and learns knowledge in various fields such as network hacking, web hacking, IoT security, incident response, and malware analysis. He graduated from Far East University with a bachelor’s degree in cyber security. He was in SIK(Security In Korea) which is a club made by students who want to study and research on latest cyber security technologies. He led a study group of reverse engineering and C programming in SIK.

Wan-jeong Park

- Intern -

She has been the part of Training business team as an intern from January 2016. Before Core Security, she interned at Daou Technology Inc. for 4 months. In the Daou, had produced promotional videos and did software testing. She assists cyber security training courses. And she is training how to lecture effectively and learns knowledge in various fields such as network hacking, web hacking, IoT security, incident response, and malware analysis. She has skills in using HTML and C and Java programming. And she has a certificate of Engineering Information Processing.
She graduated from Sejong University with a bachelor’s degree in digital contents. She participated in the Korean government business titled ‘Research on adaptive mixed reality system’ as a researcher. And she published a paper titled ‘A study on the significance of user-centered analysis and usability evaluation for software process improvement’. She accumulated experience in lecturing by providing free mathematical education services for locals for a year at Gang-dong night school.
